Becoming a trustee
John in the current chair of the Formartine Partnership Ltd and the Formartine Rural Partnership (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation). He has been a member of the Formartine Partnership since its inception in 1997. He is a radio Communications Engineer by trade andwas an Aberdeenshire councillor for 13 years, and Chair of Meldrum and Bourtie Community Council for 10 years before that. Previously he spent 15 years in Local Scouting including being part of the Scouting Adult Leader Training team. Currently on Aberdeenshire’s Community Partnership Board as representative for all the Rural Partnerships in Aberdeenshire. John is now retired from business and enjoying walking, DIY and Amateur Radio.

Mark is a Trustee as a result of being Clerk to the Ythan District Fishery Board, his main interest is the environment focusing on watercourses in Formartine area and ensuring they are as environmentally good in terms of habitat and water quality as they can be for native fish species.
Alistair has an M.A.Dip.F.B.O.M from Kings College, Aberdeen. He is Chair of Sinclair Agricultural and Recycling Services,Ltd. and Chair of Ythan Biodiversity Volunteers. He has a local farm and a contract/waste management handling and anaerobic digestion business.
John is a retired engineer. He's closely involved in local organisations including the Tarves Community Council (Vice Chair), Tarves Heritage Project (Vice Chair), Tarves Ramblers (Chair), Tarves Branch Royal British Legion Scotland (Secretary / Treasurer, Standard Bearer, Welfare Officer and Poppy Convenor) and the Royal British Legion Scotland East Aberdeenshire Landward Zone (Secretary / Treasurer and Vice-chair).
Fred is a retired Project Engineer, he moved to the North East in 1982 and has lived in Ellon since 1991. Fred has been involved in many different environmental organisations and was, for 20 years, a volunteer in a Nursery growing local native species of trees and wild flowers from seed collected around the North East.
